Who’s it For?
While there is still some sense that this is a sport for kids, there are plenty of fortyish adults to be found enjoying the sport and each year interest continues to grow. Just check out your local skate park. It’s a terrific sport providing a superior workout and a lot of fun for a group of friends.
How to Choose a BMX Bike:
There is a myriad of BMX designs as bike geometry has a major influence on bike performance, and each type of riding dictates design variations. Although the intended use strongly influences the design, the inherent simplicity of the BMX bike means that they are easier to adapt for other single-speed activities. The same bike can often perform at the track, around a skatepark, and in the street-style environment.
While the BMX bike is a fairly simple machine, BMX riding is tough on the bike and good quality components and construction are a must.
BMX Bikes We Recommend:
We proudly carry Fitbikeco which is the complete bike company of industry leader S&M, manufacturer of the best designed, most aggressively tested and carefully crafted frames, forks, handlebars and accessories in BMX. We also do custom builds using S&M frames and components.
For most riders, a complete bike is their way into the world of BMX. From there, you might change a few parts to suit your taste and intended use.
We highly recommend the Series One, a journeyman level design for BMX riders that features chromoly parts that make it stronger than cheaper hi-tensile bikes. The chromoly top tube and cut down tube offer strength and durability while keeping weight low. Responsive geometry is ideal for the modern rider. It’s a quality Street, Park and Dirt bike that comes in 5 colors and a number of size options.
